Main duties of the job
In this position, you’ll play a key role in delivering specialized Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions within the Black Country community. Supported by Senior Occupational Therapists, you’ll have the chance to enhance your therapeutic expertise in areas like specialized seating, falls prevention, and sensory integration.
A background in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions is a must, along with a genuine enthusiasm for helping people build and sustain their skills.

Job description
Job responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of service users with diagnosed learning disabilities referred to the community team.

- Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments to address occupational performance and skill gaps, meeting individual service user needs.

- Design and deliver tailored Occupational Therapy interventions (individual or group-based), using graded activities to achieve therapeutic outcomes.

- Regularly monitor, assess, and adjust treatments to track progress and ensure effective results.
Person Specification
Education and Qualification Essential
-
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent international qualification)

- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Desirable

- Membership in a professional body

- Membership in a relevant special interest group
Experience Essential
-
- Proven experience working with adults who have learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions
Desirable

- Experience in a community-based setting
Knowledge Essential

- Expertise in applying Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions in a learning disability context

- Strong understanding of and dedication to multidisciplinary teamwork
