About the Muslim Scholarship Fund Nigeria
Established in 1999 as the Muslim Education Trust Fund, the MSFN was created to address the adverse effects of economic hardship on the education and moral development of Nigerian Muslim youth.
The economic challenges in Nigeria have made quality education inaccessible to many. Consequently, some Muslims are enticed to switch faiths for opportunities like education, jobs, and general advancement in life.
While the Universal Basic Education (UBE) program eases financial constraints at the primary and junior secondary levels, a dedicated scholarship for senior secondary and tertiary education is necessary. The MSFN focuses on addressing this need.
Eligibility Criteria for the 2025 MSFN Scholarship
To qualify for the MSFN Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be Nigerian Muslims.
- Be enrolled in or have admission to a tertiary institution or senior secondary school.
- Demonstrate active participation in volunteer activities that benefit the Muslim community (e.g., coaching classes, helping the elderly, MSS activities). A Muslim leader must confirm these efforts.
- Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5/5.0 (undergraduates) or have credit passes in English and Mathematics (secondary school students).
Target States: Kwara, Kogi, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Edo, and Ekiti.
The scholarship aims to eventually cover Muslim students nationwide.
Scholarship Duration and Benefits
